"Qi Gong for Cycle Couriers"

Being a cycle courier is a demanding, stressful and an exhausting profession. Problems arise for couriers in a number of ways.

Problems arising from structural mis-alignment.

Note: That most people do not realize they have structural imbalances until they are overwhelmed by repetitive strain injuries. Injuries such as this can be career threatening unless handled with a full and experiential knowledge of this subject.

There is the physical price to be payed for cycling all day hunched over the handle bars of a bike, structural alignments are difficult to maintain in such a position. I am not going to bullshit anyone, there is s price to pay for whatever we do in life, if you train hard you will eventually wear out. Qi Gong and  internal arts practitioners such as as Tai Chi go on into old age clouting youths and maintaining their vitality, How so ?

(There are no miracle cures, instant energy techniques, or magical potions)  however you can gain longevity in your chosen job or sport if you have a method to compliment and enhance your cycling.

For cyclists there is a large amount of stress to the spine, shoulders and shoulder blades, hip, knee and the ankle joints. ( Fortunately for you, you do not get the impact stresses that runners get from pounding the ground.  At times it is difficult to gain the feedback from cycling itself to make structural changes that can improve your riding technique. If you suffer from constant niggles and pains, numbness in the limbs, road rage etc then Qi Gong can help you short term to mitigate the symptoms and long term to eradicate the causal factors involved. The bio - mechanics of classical Qi - Gong exercise can address the long term chronic tensions and blockages that inhibit your tracking to the pedal.

This is a specialist skill that has to be taught by someone with experience in advanced structural observation. Benefits for the courier include: releasing blockages which restrict  diaphramatic breathing, improved lower limb tracking, identifying and correcting spinal imbalances that are negatively effect your tracking. Grounding your force,  balancing and strengthening your joints. Improve recovery rates. Increase your cycling economy. Less effort more speed!!
